Biography

Samantha Munro (born October 19, 1990 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) is an actress who currently lives in Courtice, Ontario, Canada. She joined the cast of Degrassi in the seventh season as Anya MacPherson.

Samantha, a Toronto native, is a regular cast member on Degrassi: The Next Generation. She made her debut appearance in Season 7, Standing In The Dark, and has made appearances in other episodes. Anya is known to be Holly J. Sinclair's "lap dog", and she waits on Holly J hand and foot. In Season 8, Anya is seen as more independent, and becoming her own person. Her relationship with Sav (Raymond Ablack) gets serious when it comes to the point where she'd change her religion to fit his needs.

Before making her television appearances, she was a member of the Oshawa Little Theater, where she performed in Alice in Wonderland, Tom Sawyer, and The Wizard of Oz.

Munro enjoys horseback riding, swimming, and soccer. She is also a gymnast in floor, vault, and trampoline.

In 2008, Samantha traveled to Ecuador with the organization Free the Children. A documentary of the trip was made for MTV in Canada.
